Thanks for Round Up Help
Wednesday, July 16, 2014 • Posted July 17, 2014

A note of thanks to all that helped with Round Up weekend activities and the hours of planning and labor.

1. This year's parade route is the original route used for many years. It was changed because of some obstacles that presented problems for the floats. Those have been removed, so the original route was used again.

2. This year's thru-traffic re-reoutes was set up so the least amount of City streets had to be blocked, thus allowing a better flow of traffic.

3. Personnel were at key locations of the re-route area informing the travelers of what was going on and helping direct them through town.

Things, for the most part, went well; but, those parked around the square were still leaving before the parade was over. Folks need to realize that kids may be out in the roadway getting candy and not watching for traffic, as well as adults thinking it is safe to cross the road because there is not supposed to be any traffic during this time.

So, please, next year, wait until the parade is over, then leave. It is only a few more minutes.

To the property owners whose lawns were driven over by people going around road blocks, we apologize.

For those that moved cones or went around road blocks, you are putting others in danger.
