Five members of the Mason FFA Chapter recently attended the 86th Annual State FFA Convention held in Ft. Worth, Texas July 14-18, 2014. This event gives students the opportunity to represent their school on a state level with leadership skills. Members are also recognized for their achievements for the year along with scholarship recognition through FFA.

Price Ruffin, son of Troy and Cara Ruffin, was presented with an FFA scholarship during the the Fifth General Session of the State Convention. Price was awarded a ten thousand dollar Richard Wallrath Education Foundation Scholarship. This honor goes to graduating seniors in Texas after a series of application evaluations and interviews. Also attending the State Convention and representing Mason as voting delegates were Luis Castillo, Heather Shaw, and Ashleigh Martin. Bailey Wright attended this year’s State FFA Rodeo held in conjunction with the State Convention where she competed in the barrel racing.

Congratulations to these students for their participation and success. For more information about the FFA program in Mason, contact Jeramy Schuessler or Lance Rasch at Mason High School at 325-347-1122.
