The Lion’s Roar

The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, July 29th, for its regular weekly meeting. There were 36 members and four visitors in attendance.

"#2 Boss Lion" Joel Kuykendal was responsible for the program and Dave Benefield & Friends entertained us again with their special bluegrass music. This week, we had Jerry Carlman on guitar, Chad Barnett on his cigar-box banjo, Daryl Watson was playing his fiddle, and our very own District Governor, John Gammill, was playing the stand-up bass. The club received another blessing of toe-tapping music and everyone said they would be happy if this group played every week.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, August 5th, at noon at Nacho's Cafe. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
