Letter From a Local Lions Camp Participant
Wednesday, August 20, 2014 • Posted August 20, 2014

Dear Mason Lions,

My name is Khristina Sanchez and I’m the daughter of Zelma V. Martinez and the step daughter of Abel Martinez.

I would like to thank my Lion sponsors, Mr. Charles Reichenau and John Gammil. This summer was my fourth year attending Texas Lions Camp.

I have had type one diabetes since I was 9 years old. My first year at TLC I was 10 years old. I was on insulin shots for 3 years, but when I went to camp there were kids with the insulin pump. They talked about how easy and cool the pump is. Finally I got an insulin pump and I have been on one for a year now.

TLC has lots of fun things and activities: we get to, ride horses, zipline, swimming, archery, music class, med ed., and last but not least, my favorite was the camp out.

I am looking forward to my next two years at camp. Lord willing, in the future I can become a counselor at TLC. The med staff and counselors and all TLC staff are the most awesome people I’ve met in 4 years. I have made long life friends that have the same daily struggles that I have.

God is great.

Thank you,

Khristina Sanchez
