The Mason Lions club met Tuesday, August 12th, for its regular weekly meeting. There were 37 members and three visitors in attendance.

Lion Thom Canfield was responsible for the program and introduced Head Coach Kade Burns who spoke about the high school fall athletics program.

Coach Burns said that there were a good number of boys out for football, and they were working hard to get in shape for this season. He also introduced three new coaches: Scott Edwards, Trevor Owens and Aaron Faith.

Kade said he was extremely pleased to have these young men on his staff.

District Governor John Gammill presented Service Awards to the following members: Dane Phillips - 10 years; James Kingston - 15 years; and, Charles Reichenau - 40 years.

The club’s next meeting will be held next Tuesday, August 19th, at noon at Nacho's Cafe. The program chairman will be Thom Canfield and the program will be a surprise.

The Mason Lion’s Club promotes sight conservation in our community. Anyone who has used eyeglasses to donate may give them to a Lions Club member or put them in collection boxes at the local banks. Also, if anyone needs financial assistance with eyeglasses, please speak to a local Lions Club member.
