Library Receives Grant
Wednesday, September 3, 2014 • Posted September 3, 2014

The Tocker Foundation has awarded a $49,988 grant to the Mason Co. M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library. The grant will fund Phase II of the interior renovation project begun with a 2011 Tocker grant. The funds will be used for updating the children’s area, purchasing computer stations with task chairs, adding a new seating area for Wi-Fi and laptop users, new signage, and upgrading the circulation area. The Tocker Foundation was established in 1964 to implement the philanthropic interests of Phillip and Olive Tocker. In 1992 the Foundation board decided to focus grant distribution to small rural libraries serving a population of 12,000 or less. Patrons can look forward to changes being implemented this fall.
