4-H Shooting Sports Coaches Wanted
Ag Extension Agent
Wednesday, September 3, 2014 • Posted September 3, 2014

For years now, we have been trying to get Mason 4-H’s shooting sports program going. The first step in this process is to have leaders/coaches trained through a 4-H Shooting Sports training. In order to do that, an interested person must first sign up as a 4-H leader and pass a background check.

We are hoping to send a few people to the West Region Shooting Sports Coach’s Training, scheduled September 27-28, 2014 in San Angelo. The disciplines offered include rifle, pistol, archery, and shotgun. You can only get trained in one discipline at a time, and we must have at least 1 leader who has been through the training at each activity we do.

The Mason 4-H club will be glad to share in the cost of the $120 training, and lodging is not included, but meals are. The deadline for interested volunteers to fill out the volunteer form is September 8th, so we can have the background check completed in time to register you for the training.

If you are trained, you will not be expected to lead the project by yourself. We are hoping to get a good number of leaders trained so we can all share the responsibilities! Contact our Ag agent, Cody Bridges, at the Extension office at 347-6459 or for more information.
