Summer is drawing to a close, we’ve had a little (but not enough) rain, and the Scarlet Punchers have made merry at various locations around beautiful Mason.
July brought our first-ever Christmas in July, complete with Chinese Auction, at Nacho’s restaurant. Our August luncheon, graciously hosted by Sherie Clarkson, was an old-fashioned tea party, complete with fine china and crystal, an assortment of teas, cucumber sandwiches, and enough delicious food to keep all us Scarlet Punchers slipping into a contented post-luncheon sleepiness.
Now that September is upon us, our fall ritual entails meeting at the home of Mary Carlman, specifically her fabulous shady deck, for food, fun, and fellowship. Mary has hosted our September gathering for some years. This year it will be a pot luck luncheon on Monday, September 8th, at 11:30 AM.
Red hats and purple outfits, the Scarlet Punchers’ festive badge of eccentricity, are not required, but add a certain festiveness to the day. As usual, prizes will be at hand - if you won one in August, bring one in September. Also bring a friend - us “women of a certain age” have to stick together!
For more information, please call Lenore Newsom at 347-2766, Mary Carlman at 347-2290, or Lynn Hedges at 347-7407. Remember - Scarlet Punchers’ “mission statement” is fun, fun, fun! Who doesn’t need more of that?
