Phillip B. Maddox

Phillip Burton Maddox, known as “Phil”, “P. B”, or “Berry” age 74 of Kingsland passed away on February 4, 2009. Born on December 4, 1934, in Brady, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father Phillip Andrew Maddox and his mother Emily Capps Maddox, as well as an infant sister Velma Fay Maddox. Phil married Carlene Fletcher on February 16, 1965. He retired from the railroad after 16 years, until his death he worked for Buchanan Septic Tanks as a dispatcher. Phil loved hunting, cutting horses, NASCAR and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Carlene J. Maddox of Kingsland, sister Oma Bierschwale and Ona Green of Harper, Linna and husband Johnny Bierschwale of Harper, five children daughters Beth Molitor Parker and husband Dick of Burnet, Patricia Molitor of Marble Falls, Phyllis Maddox of Austin, sons; Sammy Maddox of Mason, Berry Maddox and wife Tammy of Bertram. Seven Granddaughters: Michelle Molitor, Tabitha Maddox, Angela Parker, Taylor Maddox, Shaylyn Parker, Harlie Maddox and Sydney Maddox. Grandson Ben Klingelhefer, two great-grandchildren Danny Maddox and Karlee Parker, numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion “Tinker”.

A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday February 7, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Clements – Wilcox Funeral Chapel in Burnet. Burial was in Melvin, Texas at the Melvin Cemetery.
