National Westren Stock Show Results

DENVER--Stormy Teichelman, Childress, TX, sold a Grand Champion Junior Market Goat of $11,500 at the National Western Stock Show's Auction of Junior Livestock Champions on January 23. The Winning Bidder of the animal was Rocky Mountain Gamma Knife Center, the Silver Spur Club and Chama and Sierra Martin.

Ninety-eight animals, steers, lambs, hogs and goats, sold for approximately $407,550 at the 2009 auction.

Ten percent of each winning bid will be contributed to the National Western Scholarship Trust that supports 74 agribusiness and rural medical scholarships at universities and community colleges throughout Colorado and Wyoming. This year the contribution totaled approximately $40,755.

More than 986 animals from 24 states competed in the national junior competition.
