Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country Announces “Classical Chalk” Workshop
Wednesday, February 25, 2009 • Posted February 25, 2009

The FAAHC is sponsoring a “Classical Chalk” Pastels Workshop in mid-March. The workshop will be given by Mason’s own, Dr. Robin E. Clark, and is scheduled for March 13th and 14th in Mason County. This is the second workshop sponsored by the Hill Country Fine Arts group and it is open to members and non-members.

Dr. Clark said, “Each day will consist of 4.5 hours of instruction and critique. Day One will be held indoors in Carol Kothmann’s studio … and Day Two will be conducted en plein aire at Martha and Riley Kothmann’s place.” Professor Clark adds, “Instruction will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m., so participants will need to allow a little extra time for travel and set up prior to that.”

The workshop is limited to eight (8) participants. At present, five (5) slots have been filled. Fees are $100 for FAAHC members and $150 for non-members. Those enrolled will need to bring a sack lunch and drink both days. A $50, non-refundable deposit, is due upon acceptance and the balance is due on “Day One” of the workshop. A supply list is available upon acceptance. If you have questions, please, contact Dr. Clark at (325) 347-0608 or FAAHC President Martha Kothmann at (325) 258-4624.

FYI: Do not let a lack of schooling in the field of art hold you back. Personally speaking, I’m not!
