There’s an old saying, “Getting the ox out of the ditch!” This was when folks didn’t go to church on Sunday, due to the fact that they pushed the ox in the ditch on Saturday! Another saying, “When the cat’s away the mice will play.”
Well, the ox in the ditch was in there for maybe two weeks and the only time I can actually get things done around the house is when Z’s gone. And when Z’s gone I’ve really got to make,”Hay while the sun shines.”
While the dust from the “HOUSE AIRING OUT” has been pretty much cleaned up. The things that should have gotten done had to wait until the, “Dust settled.” So actually I had a real good excuse for not attending Church Sunday.
Okay, I washed my car. Really should have washed Z’s Blue pickup, then we might have gotten a whole lot of rain. However, if I washed “Old Blue,” that might have made him dissolve. And heaven forbid I do anything to Old Blue.
I think Z has spent more on Old Blue at the Car Doctors than he has on himself at doctors! However, both are tax deductible, you know!
Thus, most of my projects have been done and I’ve only 48 more hours to complete the rest before the “Tornado comes blowing in!”
P.S. Another good saying for this day and time is, “The higher you fly, the harder you fall!” Think some CEO’s of our country’s big businesses are just about to learn what driving a VW will be like. Reckon so?
