The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, March 3rd, for its monthly business meeting. There were 36 members and no visitors in attendance.
"Boss Lion" Denwood Butler was responsible for the program and Secretary/Treasurer Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. Kirby Groves volunteered to be in charge of the Hamburger Lunch on April 3rd. Lion Mayor Brent Hinkley informed the club of a recycle day set for Saturday March 28. He said at this clean-up day tires, batteries (car & recyclable), appliances, Latex paint, and T.V.'s would be accepted. There will be more information later in the Mason County News. There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, March 10th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Mark Lehmberg.
The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
