Often times we forget and take for granted the beautiful little town we live in. Mason people have always shown a tremendous amount of community pride and support. On March 28, 2009, will be another chance for the residents of Mason County to demonstrate their pride a support. With spring officially arriving on March 20th, it’s the perfect time to start doing a little “spring cleaning”!
The Hill Country Resource Conservation & Development Area (RC&D) will be sponsoring a Household Recyclables event at the City of Mason Recycling Center. We are offering Mason County residents the opportunity to get rid of those “What do we do with these?” items and do it the environmentally friendly way.
We will be accepting the following items: Automobile tires (NO truck tires), lead-acid batteries, computer components, televisions (NO wooden consoles), used motor oil and filters, latex paints (NO oil-base paints), cell phones, chargers, rechargeable batteries and appliances (these must be taken to the Landfill).
This is for private residents only. No commercial businesses please. Watch for our big ad in next week’s paper!
The Household Recyclables Collection is being funded by a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) agreement with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The City of Mason entered into an agreement to create an SEP as the result of settlements of an environmental enforcement action brought by TCEQ.
