The Mason Bluebonnet Study Club is hosting the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Alamo District Spring Convention on March 27 and 28 at the Richard Eckert Memorial Community Center. The theme of the meeting will be “Tipping our hats to Alamo District Volunteers”. Attendees are being encouraged to wear hats representing four categories. Categories are vintage, floral, whimsical, and yearbook cover themes. Local judges will decide the winners in each category.
Awards for outstanding service to communities will be distributed along with reporting of activities and presentation of new ideas for next year. Distraict president Patsy Troell of Pleasanton will preside. Heading up the hostess committee will be Mason Bluebonnet Study Club president Mary Hemphill.
Members will be attending from The Rosetta Club of Beeville; The Woman’s Club of Cotulla; The Lytle Woman’s Club of Lytle; The Woman’s Club of Pleasanton; Woman’s Study Club of Port Lavaca; Woman’s Club of Refugio; Rocksprings Woman’s Club of Rocksprings; San Antonio Women’s Federation of San Antonio; Bronte Club, The Decora Study Club, Morning Study Club, and Sandalphon Study Club, all of Victorio; as well as members of the Mason Bluebonnet Study Club.
The Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs is made up of twelve districts and is part of the international organization The General Federation of Women’s Clubs headquartered in Washington, DC. dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service since 1890.
