The Ten Tenors Coming to Kerrville!
Wednesday, March 18, 2009 • Posted March 18, 2009

(Kerrville) – The Kerrville Performing Arts Society is presenting one of the biggest names in their 25-year history…THE TEN TENORS! From unassuming beginnings back in 1995, to a now platinum record-selling and international touring act, the history of The Ten Tenors is anything but standard.

When ten young opera students from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Australia, banded together to form what was then largely a corporate act, the group’s performances were few and far between and were essentially just a part-time affair, providing the members with a bit of money to help them through their studies.

Their biggest break came in early 2002 when The Ten Tenors were invited to perform at the German entry selection event in anticipation of the Eurovision Song Contest. Within hours, they had sold out an entire tour and were well on their way to becoming one of the most successful touring acts in Germany. Further European and Asian countries followed and in 2003 they made their US debut.

Nowadays, The Ten Tenors circle the globe ten months of the year, performing around 250 shows on five different continents around the world.

The Tenors’ last US tour boasts six sold out performances at The Majestic Theater in San Antonio, followed by a five-month run that crisscrossed the country through over 20 states. Their April 6th appearance in Kerrville will be followed by a performance with The Dallas Symphony (Meyerson Symphony Center) and at Jones Hall (Houston).

Kerrville’s Cailloux Theater will offer an intimate setting for TTT’s Nostalgica show, featuring hits from their recently released 8th studio album including Moon River, Danny Boy, Granada, Over the Rainbow, and Mona Lisa. TTT strive to capture the intimacy between themselves and the audience during live performances, whilst invoking nostalgic memories of people, places or times in history, with songs ranging from Mexican best-sellers to post-war classics to jazz.

Tickets are available at the Cailloux Box Office (830-896-9393) and range in price from $35-$45. For additional information visit or
