Texas redbud.

Ringing in Spring.

They’re out there.

And Spring is officially here.

If you ever plan to motor west.

Take the highway that’ll show you the best.

Take Texas State Highway 29.

A glorious one awaits you near the county line.

From there to Menard it just gets better and better.

They’re mostly on the right.

On the north side of the highway.

Wonder why that is.

You can’t miss ‘em.

Profundity of purplish-pink blooms in the midst of cedar green.

Or no green.

Wild as March hares out there.

Blooming away.

Whether we see them or not.

How splendid.

Like everything else out there blooming.

Whether or not one notices.

Just for the glory of it all.

No praise.

No credit.

No kudos.

Flowers just being flowers.

One hundred percent.

Grass being grass.

No one else can do the job.

Speaking of flowers, Jeff has a mess of ‘em at The Green House.

He also has vegetables and herbs for sale.

And soil and compost.

And the knowledge and enthusiasm to get you started.

Be it a raised-bed garden or till up the ground.

Now’s the time to grow your own.

Now is the time to plant.

Debbie at Mason Garden Market carries a selection of trees and native plants.

She also installs sprinkler systems and drip systems.

Lawn, coastal field, orchard, or vineyard.

Formal garden.

Tomato plant in a pot.

Herbs as groundcover.

Backyard vegetable plot.

Whatever form it takes.

‘Tis the season to tend to it.

To all the growing things.

That’s Mason.
