The Mason Cowgirls were recognized for their Area Championship

The board approved the purchase of a portable building to house the expansion of the district’s Pre-K program.

The calendar for 2009-2010 school year was adopted. The staff vote was split 50/50. The administration recommended the calendar with the earlier spring break.

Lee Graham, Amelia Banner and Larry Appleby spoke in support of continuing the boys cross country team past the phase out period. All runners from this year would be allowed to participate until they graduate as it currently stands.

Superintendent’s Report

A. A report was given regarding the use of the CSCOPE curriculum for the next school year. This curriculum will be used as supplemental material and will provide staff with alternative lessons to consider in addressing weak areas.

B. A rough sketch of a possible track restroom facility was presented as well as options relating to the construction of the Jr. High wing and football field house were discussed.

C. The possibility of opening a school sponsored daycare was discussed with a vote to be considered in April. The board requested some budgetary numbers to consider before going forward.

Term contracts for all professional full time employees were approved by a 6-0 vote. Tina Cantu was absent.
