Wednesday, March 25, 2009 • Posted March 25, 2009

Attention, High School Seniors! A $1,000 scholarship will be presented to a senior student selected from one of the four counties that comprise the membership of the Fine Arts Association of the Hill Country. These counties are Kimble, Mason, McCulloch and Menard.

Seniors (Class of 2009) who wish to apply for this scholarship must have been a student in classes that are in the field of Fine Arts. This would include art, music, drama and photography.

The winner must be enrolled or enrolling full time in a college/university or vocational technical school for classes beginning in either the Summer of 2009 or the Fall of 2009. They do not have to have a specified degree plan selected.

Interested students should contact their high school counselor NOW for the necessary application forms; plus, their school’s deadline for the completed forms to be returned. Also, students must submit with their application either a CD or a representative piece of their work for evaluation.

Students must be sponsored by a local FAAHC member from their particular county who is in good standing with the Association.

The good standing requirement means that their dues are up to date and the member has attended three (3) Fine Art functions in the past club year: i.e. 2008-2009.

A future story will highlight the association’s first scholarship winner. Good luck!
