In October of 1998 the Mason Study Club opened a Memorial Fund Savings Account at the Mason National Bank for anyone wishing to give memorials to the Mason County Library. Members of the community can call the bank and request the transfer of the donation that they would like to make from their own personal account to the Memorial Fund, or they may wish to do so in person. When this is done the bank sends the acknowledgement to the family on an ackowledgement card that is provided by the library. Periodically the Mason Study Club Treasurer collects the money from the Memorial Fund account and delivers it to the library.
The library has been keeping scrap books over the years with memorial cards posted in them showing the names of people who have had donations made in their memory. Donations are also given directly to the library by individuals. In this case, the librarian sends out the acknowledgement. Memorials to the library are a wonderful way of supporting the community in the memory of a loved one.
