WB Thomas, 86, died on April 6, 2009. The last surviving son of CH (Charlie) Thomas and Ruby Ellison Thomas. “B” was born in Fredonia, Texas January 16, 1923, where he lived his entire life on the family homestead farming, ranching, hunting and gardening.

Some might question how a man can be born, live a full life, and be laid to rest on the same corner of the world; while some might recognize it as an unexpected miracle in this day and time. To stay in one place and watch the seasons come and go is tantamount to constant travel; one is traveling with the earth year in and year out. B was known for his uncompromising values, a true gentleman, with his word as his bond, and a quiet and willing soul. He was a man who kept to himself, that used a nod as a hello, enjoyed a visit, had an eye for a good horse, was never without a hat, and who had a heart full of song.

B was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 59 years, Faye Thompson Thomas; his parents, Charlie and Ruby Thomas; brother, Clayton Thomas; and three infant brothers. B is survived by a special cousin, Imogene Thomas of Fredonia, Texas; three nephews, Billy Neal Thomas of Belford, New Jersey, Bobby Joe Thomas of Field Creek, Texas and Randy Caraway of Mason; five nieces, Sue Gardner and Sharon Stambaugh of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ruby Faye Sowers of Graniteville, South Carolina, Beverly Jacobs and Judy Hill..

Funeral services were held on Friday, April 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne DeDear officiating. Fred Bedmarik, Michael Flanagin, Frank Gardner, James Johnson, Rozanne Johnson, and Jim Bob Thomas served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Jesse Carroway, Gail Cox, Ginger Fenton, Charles Ray Hubbard, Tony Perez, David Priess, Victoria Sultemeir, Gabriel Tobar, the community, and B’s nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Interment followed in the Wagram Cemetery.

Visitation with the family was on Thursday, April 9th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.masonfuneralhome.net Funeral arrangements were been entrusted to Mason Funeral Home
