Mildred Louise Farmer

Mildred Louise Farmer passed away on Wednesday, April 8, in Llano, Texas.

Mildred was born in Mason on December 4, 1920, to Charlie and Cordie Kothmann Leifeste. Mildred married Glen “Preacher” Farmer on September 21, 1941.

Mildred attended her early school years at Behren’s School. For 8th grade through high school she attended school in Mason. She enjoyed telling stories of her many wild donkey rides to school. Her grandkids loved to hear her tell her stories.

Mildred was a country wife and mother, always ready to help with any crops or livestock. She also loved to work in her garden. She enjoyed keeping up with her cousins and talked with them nearly every week. She claimed to be the most stubborn of all of them. Her great-grandkids brought her the most joy and laughs.

Mildred is survived by her son “Squeaky” Farmer and wife Tessa, her brother Melvin Leifeste and grandsons Cody and wife Chris and Cole and wife Dawn along with her great-grandchildren Jessie, Brent, Salah and Riggin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Paul Leifeste.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Mason Funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Gooch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Gary Comer, Cody Farmer, Cole Farmer, Scotty Reid, Greg Leach and Mark Hoover. Memorials in honor of Mildred may be made to Mason area charities of one’s choice.
