Lonnie was born April 20, 1921, to Bert Holloway and Katie Durst Holloway in Mason County. He married Wanda Chew Holloway June 2, 1944. Together they have two children, Ronnie & Kay Holloway of Pontotoc and Cathy Holloway of Llano; one grandson, Randy Holloway of Brady, and one great granddaughter, Cassie Holloway of Brady. He is also survived by one sister, Odessa Dannheim of Mason, one sister-in-law, Beatrice Holloway of Fredericksburg, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His parents, one brother, Albert Holloway, and one sister, Beulah McLeod preceded him in death.

He worked for Foremost Dairies twenty years and for Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home for several years. He was so proud of his land and cattle after he retired; that was his favorite pastime. He joined the Baptist church in early married years. He was a board member of the Llano Special Opportunity School for 15 years. He was most proud of having his ranch enrolled in the Texas Family Heritage Program for 100 years of continuous operation. He always supported and helped the Llano Fiddlers Contest and the Llano Crawfish Open. He loved to hunt and ranch but most of all he loved his family and land.
