Splash Day at City Pool Fundraiser on May 1st
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 • Posted April 29, 2009

What better way to end the school year than with a “Splash Day” at the City Swimming Pool? Splash Day is a traditional event to commemorate the beginning of summer. Kids can make a big “splash” into the pool to ring in the freedom of summer. Mason’s City Pool committee have planned a Splash Day for May 30th for our Mason youth and families.

Funds are currently needed to host the Splash Day and provide scholarships for lifeguard training. Other possible projects discussed by the committee include a new pool slide, a shading system over the pool, and a sound system for lifeguard announcements. A large clock is also needed to assist the lifeguards.

S.O.S. (Save Our Summer) t-shirts have been designed to buy and wear in support of our community pool. On FRIDAY, MAY 1st an S.O.S. Shirt & Bake Sale fundraiser will be held in front of the Mason Chamber of Commerce from 9 am - 5 pm. Please stop by to purchase your shirt or make a donation. Shirts will be available in youth and adult sizes at a reasonable price.

To apply for a lifeguard position and/or scholarship, go by the City Office and fill out an employment application. If you have any questions, call Sherry Alm at 325-347-5758 or Sheri Jordan at 325-258-4416. See you Friday!
