Hilda United Methodist Confirms Five
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 • Posted April 29, 2009

To find a confirmation class this size at the little brown church in the wildewood, you would have to go back to 1966. As you may imagine, the congregation was thrilled to see these fine young men and ladies commit their lives to Jesus Christ. Each confirmand was expected to attend weekly classes conducted by Rev. Mal Hierholzer and study the Word and the traditions of the Church. The confirmands were also assisted in their journey by faith partners, members of Hilda UMC that sponsored each young person. The confirmands were: Jayde Witt, Sheyanne Brandenberger, Jack Graves, Zane Graves, and Zack Graves. During the confirmation ritual, each was asked a series of questions and presented with a Bible and gift. They were also presented with a poem titled, “Cross Around My Neck,” and a small wooden cross, prayed over by the Bishop, was placed around their necks.

To find Hilda United Methodist Church, travel South on Hwy 87 toward Fredericksburg about 10 miles and turn right on Ranch Road 783 just after the Llano River. Travel about 4 miles and turn left on Loeffler Ln. Can’t miss it from there. Adult and children’s Sunday School begins at 10:00 a.m. with worship to follow at 11:00 a.m.
