Parents Invited to Participate in Title Program Planning Meeting

Mason Independent School District is in the process of applying for Federal funds: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C; Title II, Part A; Title II, Part D; Title III, Part A; Title IV, Part A; and Special Education. These funds supplement the Mason ISD regular education program and ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. The public is invited to view the Standard Application System and express their views regarding the development and design of the program.

Discussion regarding Federal funds and the application process will occur during Families Together Night scheduled for May 12, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. on the Mason Elementary campus in room #138. Programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of parents in Title I, Part A programs are imperative. The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate parental involvement, establish strategies for greater parental involvement, identify barriers, explain the Title I, Part A program, and solicit parental input regarding planning, design, and implementation of Title programs for the 2009-2010 school year. Parents are encouraged to attend this meeting to familiarize themselves with supplemental opportunities available for their children and to add their suggestions to better the program.
