Bat Cave Report
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 • Posted May 13, 2009

To one and all…rich and poor, small and great, young and old, I Vicki Ritter, 2009 Eckert James River Bat Cave Steward, extend warm greetings. Yes, I have the grand privilege of being your host at the greatest event on earth, the emergence of the Eckert James River bats. This event is offered Thursday-Sunday nights from 6-9 p.m., from May 14th through about the middle of October.

The phone number for any questions or comments is 325-347-5970. There is a recording with statistics that seem pertinent, but if this does not answer your questions, please feel free to leave your name and number and I will call you back.

I do have to include the fact that the forecast is predicting bad weather for the week, so it may be advisable to call before heading out. We cannot open if the weather is bad. I will have a recorded message at the number listed above by 5 o’clock p.m. on the date in question as to whether we will be open for the evening or not. You may check the weather on MSN for Mason if you need an update on the weather.

Unlike all of the price increases in everything, admission to the cave is still $5.00 for persons six years of age and older. The Nature Conservancy wishes all to enjoy a lifetime of memories at this incredible event.

As always, I shall do my utmost as the 2009 Bat Cave Steward to make this an educational and exciting season. All of the Ladies at the Cave send their best and await your arrival to “The Greatest Show On This Planet!”
