“This place rocks!” These were the words of one of the students as he toured the Mason County Museum. This event took place at the annual mentor picnic which was held Saturday, May 9.
Approximately 50 students and mentors learned about Mason county history. The group was welcomed by Delores Keller, who directed the students through several rooms of interesting displays and exhibits. Some of the students were especially interested in the antique guns and cattle brands. Others enjoyed the beautiful lace wedding dresses as well as the antique bedroom and kitchen displays. Several of the mentors commented on the outstanding quality of the historical displays in the museum and noted that Mason County is very fortunate to have such an outstanding museum.
After the tour the group enjoyed a picnic lunch under the trees on the historical building grounds. Many wonderful memories were made for the students and their mentors.
