Wednesday, May 27, 2009 • Posted May 27, 2009

Feeling lucky or charitable? Invest $5—or more.

Two prizes worth $2,500 each will be given away in the Friends of the Hospital Gala XIII prize drawing. HEB donated $2,500 gift card, and an anonymous donor has contributed a $2,500 debit card to be won.

Five-dollar ticket chances at winning one or both of these prizes are being sold at the HCMH Foundation office, at 808 Reuben St. in Fredericksburg, and by Friends of the Hospital Gala XIII steering committee members, including James and Estela Avery, Jon Crenwelge, Kirby and Linda Davis, Myron Fiedler, John and Sherry Freeman, David Hardison, Rhonda L. Lashley, José A. Lopez, M.D., Phil and Pat McConnell, Pat and Jim Partin, M.D., Neal and Penny Reeh, Frosty and Susan Rees, Ken Schindler, Danny and Renee Sechrist, Carol Ann Shepherd, Susie and Randy Thompson, Annette and Bill Tilley, Anne and Jay Weinheimer, John Willome and Brian and Kay Wright.

Two winners will be randomly drawn at the gala on Oct. 17, and the purchasers of the drawn tickets do not need to be present to win. There will be no choice of prize.

The gala is held every two years to raise money for the non-profit Hill Country Memorial Health System. This year’s goal is $400,000 to help upgrade the current catheterization lab and build a second one.

Catheterization labs enable physicians to view patient veins and arteries in a minimally invasive and detailed manner in order to diagnose and treat internal complications. The labs are also used to efficiently view and diagnose heart complications.
