Teen Nite - Family Nite At City Pool
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 • Posted June 10, 2009

New this year at the City Swimming Pool is TEEN NITE on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. This special time is only for 13 - 19 year olds. Registration forms MUST be completed by a guardian for all youth under 18 years of age. Appropriate swimwear is mandatory! All those who do not have a completed emergency registration form on file or have inappropriate swimwear on will be benched or asked to leave. No cut-off shorts or bikini bathing suits without a shirt/cover-up will be allowed.

An adult supervisor will be on site for the entire night to closely supervise teen behavior and lifeguards will be posted. Parents/guardians are requested to drop their kids off but remain on call for emergencies or inappropriate behavior or swimwear. You are also required to pick up your teens promptly at 9:00 pm. We do retain the right to ban anyone from Teen Nite for behavior problems! This is a night for fun, safe, teen-age fellowship.

FAMILY NITE is scheduled for Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and the public is welcome. This session of swim is specifically designed for parents, grandparents, and guardians to swim with their young children. It is also an opportune time for young swimmers to practice their swimming skills. Parents, please make sure that your children have on sunscreen or hats and are taught appropriate caution in regards to restroom habits while swimming in a public pool. We would like to avoid any embarrassing accidents which might necessitate the need to get everyone out of the pool and lose a night of swimming due to a bathroom accident in the water. We also ask that you explain the importance of obeying safety rules and following instructions from the lifeguards. Again, we reserve the right to ask any family not to return for Family Nite at the pool. We want this to be an enjoyable time for families seeking entertainment for young children this summer.

No food, alcohol or glass containers are allowed within the pool area. No glass is allowed in the covered pavilion area either. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Sherry Alm at 325-805-1278 between the hours of 8:00 - 5:00 Tuesday thru Saturday.
