Bluebonnet CASA of Mason, Menard, McCulloch and Kimble counties announces a new license plate that does much more than identify your car — The new design will raise money to recruit volunteers who speak up for foster children in court.
“We are very proud of the new license plate, Big Voices for Little Texans. We feel it symbolizes who CASA volunteers are in the life of a child,” said Nancy Holt, Executive Director of Bluebonnet CASA.
By recruiting and supporting community volunteers, Bluebonnet CASA advocates for abused and neglected children in the court system. In 2008, Bluebonnet CASA served 43 children with 9 volunteers. However, there are 10 foster children that await a CASA volunteer.
“Buying this plate is a simple way to recognize volunteers and support your local CASA program that step up to help these children,” added Holt.
The Big Voices for Little Texans license plate replaces the Lone Star Proud for Kids design. “The idea was to develop a plate that embodies the CASA volunteer,” said Joe Gagen, CEO of Texas CASA. “It is also a way for any Texan to show their support for these dedicated citizens that step forward to become advocates for abused and neglected children,” added Gagen.
The CASA plate is vibrant with patriotic colors that resemble the Texas Flag and features the CASA logo. The revenue from each plate helps Bluebonnet CASA to recruit, train and support volunteers.
