“If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain. If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain.” —Emily Dickinson

“Help your sister’s boat across the water, and yours too will reach the other side.” Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind.” —Erick Hoffer

The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. —DeAnn Hollis

The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve is looking for a few of the above-mentioned persons... VOLUNTEERS that can make a difference to everyone. We have many different projects that we are currently working on to prepare for next year. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of the cave’s donation by the Eckert Family to The Nature Conservancy.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” —Aesop

If you are planning on visiting The Eckert James River Bat Cave Preserve, NOW is the time. Pups are flying and the emergence is totally breathtaking! Current emergence time for the bats is right at six o’clock. I open the gate at six, so don’t be late, because the show is enough to bring smiles of appreciation, and silent squeals of delight!! Call the bat hotline for more information at 325-347-5970.
