Classic country and western swing will have fans dancing at the next Roots Music concert at the Pioneer Museum in Fredericksburg, set for Saturday, August 29, 2009.
Amber Digby & Midnight Flyer open the show at 6 p.m. playing classic country in the style of Loretta Lynn and Connie Smith.
Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys finish the evening from 8:30 to 10 p.m. with traditional western swing 1940s and 50s style country music.
The music runs from 6 to 10 p.m., with gates open at 5 p.m. Guests can purchase the catered barbecue meal, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Guests can also take advantage of extended shopping hours in the new museum store.
The Pioneer Museum is located at 325 West Main Street in Fredericksburg, with concert entrance on Milam Street. Admission is $12 ($10 with printout from web site - pioneermuseum.com). Students high school age and younger are free. Parking is free. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Roots Music is a series of live, open-air eclectic concerts on the grounds of the Pioneer Museum on Main Street in Fredericksburg, Texas. Concerts feature both emerging and established artists in an informal, family setting. The 2009 series finishes on September 26 with Cajun/Zydeco music.
