Punchers to Scrimmage Ozona & Blanco

The Mason Puncher Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams will jump on the yellow dog Saturday morning August 15th and head to Ozona to participate in their first controlled scrimmage. The start time is 9:30 a.m.

After two long weeks of two-a-day practice sessions the Punchers are looking forward to bumping heads with somebody other then their teammates. Do not look for Coach Joy to go deep into his playbook. Scrimmages are usually a time to work on your timing and hone your technique. It is however a perfect time for the Mason faithful to familiarize themselves with their 2009 Punchers.

On Thursday August 20th, the Puncherdome will once again come to life and you will be able to get your first glimpse of the 2009 Punchers as we play host to the Panthers of Blanco in our second controlled scrimmage. The start time will be announced next week. Be sure to secure your scrimmage program when you arrive. It will come complete with rosters, important date information, varsity parent responsibilities, membership forms, and the Puncher Club bulletin.

KNEL will once again be broadcasting live from Puncher Alley which is located right in front of the concession stand. The voices of Mason Football, Lynn Ferris, Coach Graham, and Coach Habecker will also be on hand piecing together radio spots and conducting interviews with the players and coaches.

The Puncher Club will have the concession stand open and will be serving Bar-B-Que and all the trimmings. Mike Zavala of Zavalas Resturant has once again donated his time and culinary expertise in preparation of this years brisket and we genuinely appreciate his help. The Puncher Club will also have their booth open and will be hawking all of the new MHS 2009 merchandise.

When you come by, make sure you secure that Puncher Club membership or business advertising space in this years football program. Due to the popularity of last years program the Puncher Club has decided to expand it even further. The 2009 program will come in the form of a season guide, jam packed with pictures, team info, District 29 rosters, season highlights, Puncher records and much more! Show your support for the Punchers by having your family name or business featured in this years season guide. (Family membership is $25.00. Business membership with advertising is $75.00)

There are only 15 days left till kick-off. GO PUNCHERS!!!!!
