Harry’s, a San Saba landmark since 1939, will be unveiling the completion of Phase II of their store restoration project on Saturday, August 22, 2009 between 8 am and 6 pm. Over 40 items of boots, hats, shirts and jeans will be given away through out the day along with complementary boot shines. Phase II consists of the restoration of an 1884 blue limestone building, which houses Harry’s women’s apparel and boots.
The completion of Phase II brings owners, Ken Jordan and Clay Nettleship, one building closer to realizing their goal of a complete renovation and restoration of the five historic buildings that make up Harry’s.
Phase II restoration included removing plaster on the outside and inside walls to reveal the original native rock, refurbishing the original floors and ceiling, and installing new windows. The Women’s Store, housed in building five, will carry such name brands as Lucchese Charlie One Horse, Corral West, Old Gringo, Montana Silver Smith, Kial, Lady Steston, Cruel Girl and Ryan Michael. New features added are large dressing rooms, a new bathroom and rustic furniture. Western accents include barn yard lumber and cedar shakes.
With Phase I and II under it’s belt Harry’s looks forward to maintaining it’s tradition of personal service and extensive inventory as they move into Phase III.
