American Legion Auxiliary News

On Thursday, Aug. 13th, members of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit #285 met to discuss their plans for the upcoming year. The members in attendance discussed The American Legion’s Veterans Poppy distribution on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, the Auxiliary’s 2010 scholarship and the Unit’s 2009-2010 donations. The members present voted to make donations to the Mason Volunteer Fire Department, the Mason County Food Bank and Bluebonnet CASA as well as the USO DFW, located at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, and, the Fisher House Foundation, for the specific support of the Fisher Houses at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Additional plans for the Veterans Day Flag Ceremony on the Courthouse Square, the Poppy distribution and the AL-VFW Christmas Party will be made at the Ladies Auxiliary’s next meeting.
