Lions Provide Free Summer Camp for Children With Physical Disabilities and Diabetes

Thanks to the Lions Clubs of Texas, many children with physical disabilities can look forward to an experience that all children dream about - going to summer camp! The Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville offers special camping programs that serve children who have physical disabilities and type 1 diabetes.

This summer, Dalton Walker of Menard and Izaac Garcia of Mason attended Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas. The campers were sponsored by Lion Chuck Bearden of the Mason Lions Club.

The Texas Lions Camp offers camping sessions to children ages 7-16 who have visual, hearing, or physical disabilities and 8-15 for those who have type 1 diabetes. The camp offers a wide variety of activities for camper’s enjoyment, including arts & crafts, field sports, riding horses, swimming, theater, and camping out overnight. The camp is a nonprofit organization, funded by the Lions of Texas and private donations. Children attend the camp at no cost to themselves or their families.
