Vernell (Birk) Flint, age 76, of Llano, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in Llano. She was born February 8, 1933 to Bernice (Nixon) and Albert Birk in Llano County Texas where she lived all of her life. She was of the Lutheran faith and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Castell, Texas. Vernell married Roy Christian Flint May 26, 1952 in Llano.

Vernell was survived by her daughter; Iline Flint of Llano, son; Roy Lynn Flint and wife Darsi of Llano, three grand children; Nathan, Kyler and Katty Flint, sister; Ruby Toeppich of Mason, sister-in-law; Ida Mae Crenwelge of Fredericksburg, brothers in law; J. S. Norris of Castell, and Lester Flint and wife Helen of Llano, Cheryl Velez; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Christian Flint in 2007, her parents, Bernice and Albert Birk, and sister Lorene Ewing.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:00 am. at St John Luthern Church in Castell, Texas with Pastor Elliott Pancoast officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be James Toeppich, Paul Toeppich, Richard Castro, Jim Lindeman, Billy Flint and Bobby Galindo. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Castell, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, New Horizon or any charity of your choice.
