Mason County Girl Scout Troop 5240 is tying up work to complete our Silver Award. We wanted to say a special Thank You to all who have contributed towards our goal. We greatly appreciate everyones help for making our project a success.

The Girl Scout Silver Award is the second highest award that a Girl Scout may earn. The project part of the award is supposed to be aimed at helping the community. We chose to work with Operation Orphans based in Mason County. Our Troop has collected, and will continue to collect, clothing and boots for the youth served by Operation Orphans.

We have already collected and delivered 262.2 pounds of clothing. We will be doing another weigh-in of the clothing that has been donated since our last count. We will sort these by size and take them to the headquarters at Camp Gene Ashby.

We will continue to accept donations through the month of October, even though our project will be officially completed. Please bring any donations of clothing or boots by Hair Care Extraordinaire at 802 Post Oak. Again Thank You for your support in helping our troop earn our Silver Award.
