Bat Cave Report
Wednesday, October 7, 2009 • Posted October 7, 2009

I feel akin to Chicken Little this morning. He ran around telling everyone that the sky was falling. I am sitting here at this typewriter feeling like the sky is falling. I have so much to say and don’t know particularly what is of the utmost importance.

I thought about letting everyone know that we did not have many visitors to the cave this week. I don’t know if the crisp nights, cooler weather, or everyone being super busy these days is what caused it, but we did miss you!

I should think about writing you of the plans for a huge cleanup at the Preserve at the end of April or beginning of May. I will have a definite date for this in next week’s column. Start getting ready so that you can mark this on your big block calendar in red ink.

The most probable pick to talk about this week is the wonderful emergences that are happening at The Eckert James River Bat Cave. The bats are in superb form and are true crowd pleasers even though the weather has been a bit on the chilly side.

Even if I did write about the emergences being terrific, people would need to know that they are not coming out until a few minutes before dark this time of the season. Sunday night the emergence was right at 7:30 P.M. and was absolutely spectacular. That only gives a few minutes of viewing, but this few minutes could change your life.

This life change comes about by the calming of the heart. The calming of the heart causes the mellowing out of the billions of nerves that have been about to wrap around your brain and squeeze you like a python. With this ease in tension, there is plenty of neurons left to stitch together a most delightful memory. With this new memory on board it gives you reason to smile. This smile produces in you the need to pass this information on to your grandchildren. Since these grandchildren are not yet born, life has to be lived for a while. Since you have to live and you are smiling, you make new friends and have a blast.

So, which one of these should I write about this week? I guess that I will have to wait until next week to decide since I am out of room for now. Have a great week and join us this week for your health makeover!! See ya at the cave!!
