The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, October 6th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 36 members and 3 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Ellie Blair and Hillary Bibb.

"Boss Lion" Chris Dyer was responsible for the program. Sec./Tres. Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. Lion Lee Graham gave a quick report on 5-K/10-K Walk-Run. He said more information to come later. Jeff Grote was inducted as a new member, his sponsor is Chuck Bearden. Jeff said the Mason Lions Club sent him to France the summer of 1971 on a foreign exchange student program. Jeff said he was very grateful for this experience. There being no other business the meeting adjourned!

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, October 13th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Chris Dyer.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
