We recently passed through Mason. We drove around town and as older people do, we relived some happy memories. Mason was our home 15 years. We drove past our former home where we raised our son B. J. We enjoyed memories of basketball games in our driveway, kids laughing as they slid down our staircase and an endless food supply for B. J. and his friends. We are thankful for the security, the values and simplicity that was learned in Mason. B. J. started kindergarten in Mason and graduated in 1999. He went on to ASU, got his Masters degree, married, and became a father. He and his wife Shanna and children Isaac, 3 and Iliana, 2 recently moved to Houston. B. J. accepted the position as Baptist Student Ministry Director at the University of Houston. The University has a student population of 38,000 in a town of 8 million. The ministry serves students from many countries and countless cultures. There is nothing as important in a child's life as a good, solid foundation. We thank God for the foundation He provided in Mason.
