O Negative Blood Type Donors Urgently Needed!
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 • Posted October 14, 2009

Less than one day's supply on

The weekend is approaching and there are fewer opportunities to donate blood. Please donate today or Friday at the United Blood Services donation center in San Angleo. There is less than a one day supply on shelves of O Negative blood type.

United Blood Services is, once again, continuing the Urgent Need for O negative blood donors. The supply of O negative blood is not sufficient to take care of our area hospital patients. We have relied on help from other cities within our system for several weeks now, but that help is no longer available.

We encourage you to spread the word about the urgent need for O negative donors. The requirements for donating are simple: You must be at lease 16 years of age and be in good health. There are some height and weight requirement for donors between the ages of 16 and 22.

Donors may call their United Blood Services donation center located at 2020 W. Beauregard in San Angelo at 325-223-7500 or toll free at 800-756-0024 or visit to make a convenient appointment to donate.

Hours of operation are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 12pm - 6pm, Wednesday and Friday 8am - 2pm, Saturday 9am - 1pm.

Find the hero in you. Give at least 3 times a year.
