Mason Puncher Youth Football Teams in Championship Games This Weekend
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 • Posted October 28, 2009

There will be a lot of trick or treaters dressed like football players Saturday. Both of the little Puncher teams are headed to the big dance this weekend at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood.

The 5th and 6th Grade Team, with a current 3 and 3 record, will face either Brady or Coleman for third place at 11:30 a.m. This team lost in the semi’s in a hard fought battle 16-0 to a very powerful Brownwood team. The Punchers showed what they were made of, basically holding the high powered offense to 0 points in the second half and making a firm statement about the quality of football they can play.

The 3rd and 4th Grade Team will take its 6 and 0 record into Gordon Wood Stadium at 1:30 p.m. to play the Brownwood Lions who are also undefeated. It will be the clash of the titans after Mason dismantled Llano in the semis 24 to 0.

Please come out and show your support this weekend in Brownwood, or if you can’t make it, tell a player good luck when you see them. These young people have played with pride and heart all season and they are truly great ambassadors for the town of Mason, their school, and their families.
