The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, Nov. 10th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 37 members and 6 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Justin Yonker and Ethan Holland.
Lion Gene Gammill was responsible for the program and introduced Roy Landry, Dist. Governor, from San Angelo who spoke about Lionism.— Alan Henderson, accompanied District Governor Landry to Mason. They are both members of the Downtown Lions Club in San Angelo. They took approximately 150 pair of used eye glasses to the Recycle Center to be distributed to people that can not afford new ones. These eyeglasses were collected by the Club from the residents of Mason County.
Lion Nolan Donop was presented a set of pins by Dist. Governor Landry for his work in getting new members.
Our High School Seniors announced there will be a Blood Drive Tuesday November 17th at the High School. This is sponsored by the local National Honor Society.
The club's next meeting will be Tuesday, November 17th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be John Gammill and the program will be Roy Cooper, with his gun collection.
The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
