Mason High School Offering THEA Testing
Wednesday, November 18, 2009 • Posted November 18, 2009

Mason High School will again offer the THEA test to anyone who would like to take it. Since 1989, the Texas Higher Education Assessment® (THEA®) has provided Texas students and institutions of higher education with a flexible, fair, and accurate testing and score-reporting system. Its purpose is to assess the reading, mathematics, and writing skills that entering freshman-level students should have if they are to perform effectively in undergraduate certificate or degree programs in Texas public colleges or universities. Many community, technical and junior colleges require students to take the THEA or other similar exam rather than the ACT or SAT test.

If you would like to take the test, please call Melany Canfield, Mason High School counselor at 347-1122 extension 224 to reserve a space. (Walk-ins are welcome as long as there are enough tests available.) The scheduled test date and time is Monday, November 23th at 8:00 am in the Mason High School library. The test lasts five hours and the cost is $29. (Checks should be made payable to NES.)
