Mason Lions Roar

The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, Nov. 24th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 31 members and 6 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Tantha Lange and Lyndsi Clark.

Lion Lee Graham was responsible for the program and introduced Jeff Guice, Girls Basketball Coach who spoke about the girl's team, their schedule, strengths and weakness. Mason will host a tournament in December. Coach Guice said that Irion County would be the team to beat in the District. He gave the results of the game that had previously been played. Coach said that the girls should compete very well in District this year even though they had a very tough schedule.

The Lions Club will announce the recipients of the proceeds of the 5K/10K Walk-Run next week! The Lions will have a Hamburger Lunch on the Square, Dec. 11th.

The club's next meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 1st, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be the monthly business meeting. The Lions Christmas Dinner will be Dec. 15th at the Richard Eckert Civic Center.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
