Grief and the Holidays Workshop
Wednesday, December 9, 2009 • Posted December 9, 2009

The holiday season is one of the hardest and often loneliest times for those who have experienced the recent death of a loved one. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be that recent. It is also a time when both friends and family are often confused about how to help their grieving loved ones get through the holidays. They are conflicted by the spirit of the season and the sorrow of the loss.

Marti Noll, Certified Bereavement Companion and Grief Counselor, and Sam Warren, a pastor, professional counselor and Director of Pastoral Care Services at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, will be conducting a free workshop called Grief and the Holidays. This workshop is designed to help those who are dealing with grief to:

* better understand the grief process and how it affects us during the holidays,

* develop strategies for coping,

* use the holidays to help further healing and recovery from the loss for others or themselves.

The Grief and the Holidays workshop will be offered on Thursday, December 10 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at Beckmann’s Funeral Chapel, located at 202 W. San Antonio St. in Fredericksburg . For more formation please contact Pat or Lisa Stapleton at 830/997-7511 or Sam Warren at 210/ 698-4620.
