This Friday, December 18th, is the deadline for making your donation to the annual Mason County EMS fundraiser known as "Operation Christmas Greeting". A full-page "Community Greeting Card", with an alphabetical listing of all contributors, will be in this paper’s Christmas edition on December 23rd.
The "Greeting’s" goal each year is to provide funds for equipment enhancement. Mason has a small work force comprised of two employees and several volunteers; they must staff three (3) ambulances, if and when the need arises for all three to be called into service. Providing equipment that can better help them in their work to save lives is the reason this fundraiser exists.
This year’s goal is to fund the purchase of Broslow Pediatric Advance Life Saving Support Kits. These kits are individually packed for different infant and youth age groups. They are self-contained with provisions pre-measured for the total emergency need of the patient. Each kit is priced at $1,200.00 and three kits are needed, one for each ambulance; the total price will be $3,600.00.
If you have not yet made your donation, please, fill out a coupon (use the one below or pick one up at your bank), printing your listing(s) exactly as you wish it to appear on the "Greeting". Deposit your check (made payable to "Operation Christmas Greeting" and marked "Donation-EMS") with your coupon attached, at any of Mason’s three banks. You may also mail it to one of the banks. Address your envelope to: "Operation Christmas Greeting", the name of the bank you are using and Mason, TX 76856. (First State Bank, Mason National Bank or The Commercial Bank.)
The funds donated in these past years have helped to purchase: training mannequins, training equipment, portable blood pressure monitors, Lif-Pak 12 cardiac monitors and defibrillators, GPS locators, stair chairs and an oxygen tank lift for the new ambulance. Your funds also helped with the purchase of the power cots.
Mason is a very rural area. It is critical to have the best help possible when we need medical help immediately. The EMS is "the first on the scene" to offer their life saving aid. Your support is needed to help Mason County have the best equipped EMS possible. In addition, you will be saying "Merry Christmas" to many people. The deadline is this Friday, December 18th. We continue to ask for your support. Thank you!
