Sometimes Christmas wishes are pretty simple; some place to stay where it’s safe and warm. Maybe someone who will welcome you with a smile or an embrace instead of a wallop upside the head. The Haven provides refuge for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
New Outreach Coordinator/Advocate Catina Morton was delighted to welcome ladies from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church who came to decorate the facility’s Christmas tree. During the afternoon visit, someone asked what immediate needs existed. Ms. Morton told the ladies, "At this time of year we could use baby clothing. We always need cleaning supplies... a vacuum cleaner would be awesome!"
Morton stressed that the facility strives to serve the entire community, "not just Haven clients."
In January, The Haven will welcome the arrival of Donna Jones as executive director.
